The Northern Colorado Nightmare have had a serious problem this season finding worthy competition. Saturday night was no exception to the rule as The Nightmare squished The Denver Sharks 41-0. The Nightmare have now collectively beat opponents 286-17 in overall season points.

What started as a slow and blowy first quarter would soon get on track with The Nightmare’s usual dominance. The Nightmare had three first half offensive touchdowns and an incredible “scoop ‘n score” by Orlando Rivera. The Roosevelt High Alum saw the blocked punt sputter off to the left where he secured it and used his fancy feet to make several defenders miss on his way into the end zone.
At the close of the first half and off-and-on throughout the second half things became a bit heated. The one knock on The Nightmare is they let The Sharks get the best of their emotions, occasionally. Several shoving matches quickly formed throughout the game with Denver seeing the majority of the bad behavior, but the action from both sides canceled out most of the potential penalty yardage.
The second half was more competitive as The Sharks held The Nightmare to 13 points and intercepted JuJu Banks one time. While those points alone could win the game The Nightmare did keep the pressure on as they found the end zone twice and intercepted Denver twice, including Orlando’s second interception. The icing on the shutout win cake was the announcer playing “Baby Shark” for the last five minutes of the game. Once again, Northern Colorado shows they are a step above the competition as they sliced up the Denver Sharks 41-0 in their sixth conference win and seventh overall (Arizona exhibition game).
