Northern Colorado Nightmare Drop Finale But Optimistic Future Ahead

The Northern Colorado Nightmare dropped the finale of their season against the Utah Islanders in the Rocky Mountain Bowl game. The Nightmare suffered their first loss of the season and only second of the year (exhibition game against Colorado Spartans Indoor Professional Team). Northern Colorado’s record ended 11-1 after a tremendous season. The Nightmare were historic in the sense of a perfect conference season and beating teams by a margin of 40+ points on average.

Bear Claw Media had the privilege to interview Owner Karrie Fahrenbruch & Linebacker/ PlayersRepresentative Trent Fahrenbruch recently. The Northern Colorado Nightmare is an amazing organization of talented individuals from as far away as two hours away. They come together once a week for practice and use zoom at other times of the week for player meetings. The players range in age from 18 to late thirties or so and have varying levels of experience from high school to college to multiple years in the semi-pro leagues.

Miss Karrie explained how they thought it was their best year yet as they continued to grow into fan entertainment that’s family friendly. She agreed that the games “are not just games” anymore, but rather “a full service of entertainment and football”. The Nightmare have t-shirt giveaways, “Name That Tune”, halftime performances, food trucks, merch wagon, and more to keep the whole family happy.

Trent explained he also thought it was their best year yet, but attributed the success to the on field performances. The Nightmare beat teams on average by 39.1 points per game during conference play. The offense averaged 44.9 points forced and the defense allowed 5.8 points allowed per game. These staggering numbers led to them demolishing league competition. Trent said he was happy for the Islanders since they earned the win, but even more proud of the Nightmare for a great game. “30 of their players are current college or transfer portal players” so Trent had great pride that Northern Colorado’s family-style team competed at the same level.

The Fahrenbruch Family has a ton of exciting off-season moves in the works fans should be excited about from their charity work through NoCo Cares, recruiting for next season, and continuing to bring fans an elevated sense of community. The team plans to take a month off to rest and regroup before tryouts are scheduled in October or so.

Additionally, Bear Claw Media is excited to partner with The Northern Colorado Nightmare as their preferred media partner and primary source for all things Nightmare outside of their social media. Thank you Fahrenbruch Family!
