It is no surprise to anyone in the Championship Football League atmosphere that the Northern Colorado Nightmare have been absolutely dominant. NoCo’s points alone have been a stark reminder to the league how much of a Nightmare they truly are with 380 points forced and a mere 30 points allowed during the regular season. The Nightmare put the league on notice once again as they defeated The Mile High Eagles 60-7 and finishing 8-0 in conference.
The game was truly a Nightmare for the Eagles, but still caused discomfort on both sides. Wind and rain toyed with the quarterbacks as both sides struggled with footing and accuracy. Running backs and receivers were slightly limited as their quick cuts were not as easily available and the Eagles struggled holding onto and hauling the ball in. The second quarter was also put on hold as the referees called for a lightning delay and everyone to go to their cars until the storm passed.

Despite the weather being combative, the Nightmare did not let the challenges limit them in a 53 point margin of victory. The Eagles chose violence twice causing both sides to lose their cool and a plethora of flags to be assessed and dispersed. That was the only true knock on the Nightmare victory as the team had been eager to return the nastiness they were receiving.
While the extra circulars were frustrating on all sides there was no ability to rival the Nightmare’s talent, comprehension and athleticism. The Northern Colorado Nightmare finish the regular season 8-0 and will host a semi-final playoff game this Saturday July 27th in The Boneyard at District 6 Stadium against the Colorado Flames (4-4). The Nightmare beat the Flames twice this year 39-7 and 34-6.
