NBA Finals Preview: Denver Nuggets vs. Miami Heat

The immovable object vs. the unstoppable force.

The juggernauts vs. the underdogs.

The Serbian Superman vs. HIMmy Butler.

While the series is widely being touted as a seven round championship fight between Nikola Jokic and Jimmy Butler, both super stars had their sidekicks to boost them to this incredible position.

The Nuggets have been incredibly consistent at team style basketball where anyone can score and the marquee players shine when they need to.

The Heat have struggled with consistency, but make up for it with grit, determination and forcing turnovers.

Jokic is a top five player in four categories including leading the league in fantasy points and assists. Jamal Murray also made the lists as being fifth on three-pointers made with 47.

Jimmy Butler was the sole player to make the list for the Heat as he tied for first in steals at 2.1 per game.

A slew of unlikely candidates — led by Caleb Martin, Max Strus and Gabe Vincent — have stepped up in big ways to get the Heat to where they are now.

Out West, the Nuggets have strongly defended their No. 1 seed including sweeping Lebron and the Lakers to the dismay of the national media.

The Heat took a commanding lead 3-0 and barely escaped the Celtics with a desperation win at TD Garden. Which of these prevailing forces will win out?

Ben’s Prediction: Nuggets in 5

Chris’s Prediction: Nuggets in 5

Nikola Jokic has been the most impactful and dominant player in the entire NBA this season.

No matter what Kendrick Perkins, Mark Jackson, Nick Wright, or other delusional national media figures say, Jokic is the best player in the league. He is able to be a top scorer, tally a triple-double, lift up his teammates with assists — or all three.

On top of a sensational season for Jokic we have seen a resurgence of Jamal Murray’s deadly accurate three-pointers.

While these two lead the pack they also have a host of consistently impressive supporting cast.

Long story short: Jokic is more impressive than Butler, the supporting cast performs consistently better, and Michael Malone’s total accountability coaching will elevate the Nuggets to their first ever NBA title.
